Keeneland Spring Challenge

View Final Standings

For the first $400 Keeneland Spring Challenge on Saturday, April 22, we had 258 entries. The prize fund was 1 BCBC and 4 NHC Spots plus cash to the top five spots.

Blaise Brucato won the tournament and the BCBC spot by cashing a $500 2-7 exacta in the last race for $3100.  He just held off Mike Maloney by $100, but Mike compensated by finishing 2nd and 4th.  Maloney was limited by rule to winning one NHC spot.  Paul Hoffman of Chicago grabbed an NHC spot for finishing third; Mark Haidar on Northville, MI finished fifth; and the lucky player who slid in 6th due to Maloney's feat was Ali Aksoy of Toronto.  Prize money ranged from $3,500 for first down to $1,000 for fifth.

It was a very successful warm-up for the Grade One Gamble scheduled for Sunday, April 23, when 166 entrants will compete for 7 BCBC and 10 NHC spots plus $45,000 in cash.
